About Me
I am David J Myrand. I worked for the Maine Central RR for 5 years. I started on the Eastern Subdivision out of Bangor in May 1967. I was drafted into the U.S. Army in Oct 67. I returned from Viet-Nam in Oct 69 and bid the head end of the Night freight 375 with Dave Dudley and Alan Birdwood. In 1974 I rejoined the U.S. Army for a career. I spent the rest of my military time in Hawaii. When I bought a house in Hawaii my father sent me all the Lionel I had collected and some of his Ives from the 30's. I kept collecting and started purchasing High end Lionel and the latest in Command control. I tried living back in Maine in 2008 but found I could not cope with the weather. In Nov 2009 I moved to the Philippines and brought with me about 650 pieces of Lionel, K-line, Atlas O,and Weaver. O gague.with me. I built a large house here and the upstairs is just for trains. I am now retired and spend most of my time researching RR history and reading RR publications. I love belonging to RR clubs and following what has been going in the RR scene. While in Hawaii I was a grandfather of the Hawaiian RR Society, which is restoring the 3 ft rail lines that served Hawaii during the war years.
