I'm not upset at all. I will see a nice new B&M Scheme every other weekend starting in April when I don my conductor cap.....

I just think that if you put out there that this is what you are going to do, then do it. Like the 470 does sometimes......."We are going to do........" and then poor Cory or the Maher boys work their tails off and POOF! Never gets finished.

If a major company makes an announcement that they are going to do something, they should do it, that's all I'm saying.

Paint the dam 45's! They are in the process of painting them all Poop Blue anyway!

Now, to keep this on PAR, is anything Pan Am Heritage related going on???

No sir there isn't. The Geep is still in the roundhouse in pieces with no blue paint. I believe 77 is still running on SAPPI III as the lead unit, the Green Machine is in and out of the shop, not very dependable.

I went to Fairfield, Maine to look at a "Narrow Gauge train set" someone had for sale. Going through Waterville, I heard the yard office ask about the 77. So it was running that day.

77 was apparently on POED today headed back to East Deerfield.........If I had been paying attention & not totally absorbed in the race I would have been out for pictures:( I take it 52 is still in for "maintenance"?

Then Dylan, this is what I will say to rebut......

They need to stop talking sh*t about getting all these "Heritage Units" out on the

tracks. When you put things like that in print, you need to be able to cash the

check that your railroad's rearend has written.

I point out this further point; If you spend a few thousand on painting a locomotive, only for it to just crap out a few weeks later, and prove cost prohibitive to repair, then why would you repaint other locomotives that are reaching that same const-prohibitive repair point? That's roughly $3000 to $6000 down the drain. Shiney paint doesn't make a locomotive work. Both you and I are well aware of that Bill. Is it annoying as all hell? ABSOLUTELY. Is Pan Am breaking its commitment? Well, no duh, but their operations department clearly has to worry about keeping them in one piece. It's like my Escort LX; A new coat of paint would be nice, especially with some a-hole putting key scratches into my car on a seemingly regular basis when I park it at school, but I can't justify the cost if I have to keep worrying about something else breaking.

CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP... !!

Have you seen the pics of 77 in Deerfield?

PUKING oil out the stacks. She has huge black streaks down each side.

Unreal. I need to go up there on Friday to get a couple of last shots of her.

I really feel as though this will be her death knell.
